R&D Portfolio
We build research tools for education¶
Tools & Software¶
Trajectory Builder¶
A learning trajectory application for creating structured educational paths with xAPI learning analytics, Bayesian outcome prediction, H5P integration, and Estonian national curriculum mapping.
RDF Curriculum Manager¶
Managing and publishing Estonian national curriculum data in RDF and JSON-LD formats with semantic relationship visualization and linked data export for e-learning platform interoperability.
RAGistrat¶
RAG-powered assessment tool for legal education — analyzes student submissions using the IRAC method against a curated knowledge base of legal sources, producing structured feedback with norm citations and violation flags.
Diffusion Simulation Game¶
Educational simulation game for teaching innovation adoption strategies based on Rogers' Diffusion of Innovations theory. Data-driven game engine with Kahoot-style multiplayer sessions and a visual game version editor.
ICAP Lesson Plan Toolbox¶
Lesson planning tool based on the ICAP framework (Interactive, Constructive, Active, Passive) with implementation tracking, structured teacher reflection, and a mentor system.
eDidaktikum¶
Competency-based learning platform built on Estonian national occupational standards. Supports competency development, e-portfolios with DigCompEdu mapping, task management, and collaborative discussions for educators and learners.

Research Approach¶
Design-Based Research¶
Each tool is developed through iterative cycles (design, deploy, evaluate, redesign) in authentic educational settings, generating both practical artifacts and theoretical insights.
Model-Based Learning Analytics¶
Pedagogical models structure what data we collect, how it is analysed, and what feedback is generated which enables a partnership between teachers, learners, and intelligent technology.
Teacher-AI Complementarity¶
We investigate how teachers and AI systems can work together as hybrid intelligent systems, where human pedagogical expertise and machine capabilities complement rather than replace each other.
Co-Creation with Practitioners¶
Our tools are developed with teachers, not for them. This happens through school–university–industry partnerships that translate research into sustainable adoption
